I had never heard of this 'wintery mix' weather until I moved to Missouri. In Colorado, where I grew up, it was either sun, wind, rain, or snow and sometimes sleet that usually turned into snow. But out here you get a combination of the rain/sleet/slush/snow that is just horrible. It's awful on the roads even if it doesn't really accumulate much because it ices over so fast. Either way, I'm glad to be home today and not out driving.
But the 'wintery' weather also makes for a gloomy day. Some might be discouraged by this, but I'm looking forward to a cup of hot chocolate and cuddling into my couch to do some editing on my novel or read a few more chapters in the book I'm working on now.
