Stanford's list of the Best Fiction of the 20th Century is quite extensive. I'm sad to note that there are quite a few on here that I haven't read... yet. Some I know I read but remember nothing about (Invisible Man and The Good Earth) and some I remember and love (Fahrenheit 451 and Watership Down).
Which ones have you read? Are there any you think should have been included but weren't?

I have read about a third of the books on the list. There were several books on there that I don't necessarily agree should be on the list but "best book" is very subjective. I think some that should have been included are "A Wrinkle in Time",I would have included at least one Dr. Seuss book,Something by Isaac Asimov, and finally The first Harry Potter.
I totally agree with A Wrinkle in Time - such a great book. I haven't read any Asimov yet, though. And I'm torn about Harry Potter, but I'm sure it will appear on future lists.
Not having read Harry Potter I can't say much, except I wouldn't put it on the list.
I would also take The Great Gatsby off the list as well as The Old Man and the Sea.
I don't remember liking The Good Earth either so it's also gone.
I have read maybe ten books on that list and almost all of those were required reading for advanced English classes in high school.
Apart from required reading the only ones I have read would be The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and The Lord of the Rings. Oh, and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I think it's totally awesome that it made their list!
