Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.

This is a beautiful quote. And on the subject of beauty, I just wanted to tell you that you should read a beautiful book called "Goose Girl" by Shannon Hale. Beautiful! It is young adult fiction, but some of the language is so rich. I think you would like it as a light, easy, relaxing read. I really enjoyed it. (in fact, I was an idiot and stayed up all night reading it in one sitting...I was also procrastinating my homework, so...)
Miss you and hope you're loving your new home!
ohhh, and "A Grief Observed" is simply heartbreaking, no?
I thought this quote was fitting since I'm reading 'A Grief Observed' right now. It is definitely heartbreaking but also deep and very melancholy. And oh so honest.
I added Goose Girl to my GoodReads to-read list. It looks quite good and I actually heard someone talking about it last week so I'm interested.
